I stumbled across an Australian company, Sunnylife, that seems to make everything cool + chic for summer pool time. You may have seen many of their products filling up various trend setting Instragam feeds… like their amazing Gold Swan.
My picks above for the perfect pool party. You can find all the items at Sunnylife.
I could go on and on about all the reasons I adore Sun Valley, Idaho. It’s been a safe and happy escape for me for more years than I can count at this point. My family spent 2.5 weeks there this winter and it was heaven, as always. Just in case you’re planning on escaping California’s horrible ski conditions and heading to some real ski know, here are a few places to hit in town…
The vibe is unreal. Warm, supportive, happy and always welcoming (even to us wannabe locals that float in and out of town when our kids have school breaks). Owner, Danielle Fuller could not be cooler and if you’re up for a complete challenge, but are in need of a mental rejuvenation, instructor Beth Stuart is your girl for a powerful glow.
My Australian brother-in-law noted this was the best Thai food he has had since moving to the states. And he is right. We all crave it when we’re not in town. Their secret is simple – fresh, perfect ingredients. When they run out, they close for the night.
There is nothing more quintessential “winter” than a sleigh ride in the snow. My entire family loved the cozy ride through white fields of snow to the warm, quaint trail creek cabinet for dinner. Hurry, the last ride of the season is Feb 21st.
As a side note…
I can’t wait for the classic Sun Valley Lodge to reopen this summer. Word is the interiors will still feel classic Sun Valley, just freshened. The spa is the new amazing upgrade I’m most looking forward to checking out.
Stayed at the chic Palihouse Hotel just a few blocks from the heart of everything: 3rd Street Promenade shopping, a plethora of yoga, pilates and spin studios + great eats. Palihouse’s chic interiors and amazing coffee bar made up for the fact that they don’t sell cocktails. Ratings before I booked said the service was horrible. I found everyone to be overwhelmingly friendly… just maybe a bit short staffed.
Sugar Fish is no secret to LA Locals for a “roll free” sushi experience. The wait was about 45 minutes but they graciously brought us drinks while we people watched and chatted with the locals. Impeccable, creative presentation and the freshness was on par with sushi I’ve eaten in Hawaii and Cabo.
Shopped along Venice’s Abbott Kinney Blvd. Potentially the birthplace of “So Cal hipster cool” with everything to offer from top notch food and drinks to amazing Interior Design shops and original clothing boutiques. Loved the Australian Bohemian vibe of Flannel and stopped by Aviator Nation for some made-in-California surf sweatshirts for my kids.
